What services do you provide?

 

We are professional dog walkers and pet sitters.  That means we come to your home when you are unavailable to care for your pet, and we give them all the love and care they need.  This includes feeding, fresh water, treats, medication (including insulin shots and sub-Q fluids!), waste cleanup, and of course walks, playtime, and lots of lovin'.  Moreover, we take care of watering your plants, rotating your lights, bringing in your mail and newspapers, and taking out the trash if you'd like!  See the Services and Rates page for more information.

 

How long are your visits?

 

Typically, our visits range from 20 minutes or 45 minutes in length.  You choose.  We generally require a 45-minute visit if you have three or more pets in your home so that we have time to adequately care for each critter.  See the Services and Rates page for more information.

 

Why should I use a professional pet sitter instead of a neighbor, friend, or relative?

A professional pet sitter is more trustworthy, reliable, and prepared than a neighbor.  It's our livelihood to provide you with peace of mind while you're away.  We come to your home ready with detailed information about your home, your pet's needs and routines, and what to do in case of an emergency.  We are trained in Pet First Aid and CPR.  All staff have passed a criminal background check.  We are bonded and insured, so if an accident does occur, you are covered.  

 

Why do we need to have an initial meet and greet?

 

The purpose of an initial meet and greet is to give all parties involved - the owner, the pet sitter, and the pets - a chance to meet and get comfortable with each other.  You can feel at ease knowing who exactly will be coming to your home and caring for your pet.  We can get to know your pet and your home, including where you keep the leash, food, and treats.  And your pet can start getting used to this new person and hopefully feel a bit calmer, and maybe a bit excited, when we enter your home again to begin services!

 

Additionally, we will exchange some information at the initial meet and greet.  To prepare for our meeting, please be ready with detailed information about the dates and times you need service and the care of your pet.  We will be prepared to educate you about our business, background, and qualifications, answer any questions or address any concerns you may have, and create a pet sitting package that meets your unique needs and those of your furry, fishy, or feathered friend.  If you decide to hire Fussy Gussy Pet Sitting, LLC, you'll sign our service agreement, and we will also collect two house keys at our initial meeting. 

 

An initial meet and greet is required for all new clients wishing to schedule pet care services with Fussy Gussy Pet Sitting, LLC.  This meeting is free!  When you first contact Fussy Gussy Pet Sitting, LLC, we will pencil in the dates you need service, but we cannot confirm oue availability for those dates until we sign the service contract at the meet and greet.

 

Do you only work during your office hours?

 

No, our office hours are the window of time during which we are available to answer and return calls and emails.  We offer our dog walking and pet sitting services as early as 7:00 a.m. and as late as 9:00 p.m. 

 

Incoming calls and emails before or after office hours will be returned as soon as possible, and unless there are extenuating circumstances, your call or email will be within 24 hours during office hours.

 

Do you work on weekends?  On holidays?

 

Yes, our service hours and office hours are the same seven days a week.  We do work on holidays, but we love our families and want to spend time with them as well.  Therefore, there is a $10 surcharge for all holidays (New Year's Eve, New Year's Day, Easter, Mother's Day, Memorial Day, Father's Day, Fourth of July, Labor Day, Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, and Christmas Day).

 

Where do you keep my house keys?

 

We collect two copies of your house key at our initial meet and greet.  This way, we do not need to make arrangements to collect and return keys before and after every visit.  These copies are coded and your personal information is stored elsewhere for extra security.  The keys are kept behind locked doors in a locked storage system at our office.  

 

How do I know I can trust you?

 

We will do everything we can to earn your trust - we believe relationships are key in this business!  After all, we are coming into your home and caring for your furry family members while you're away.  To begin earning that trust, we will be happy to show you proof of our business liability insurance, bond, and background check at our initial meet and greet.  Referrals are available upon request.  And we will take the time at our initial meet and greet to introduce ourselves and get to know you and your pets so that all of us can feel comfortable moving forward.  See the About Us page for more information.

 

What areas do you serve?

 

We generally serve pet owners in Linthicum, Glen Burnie, Halethorpe, Arbutus, Catonsville, and Hanover, Maryland.  We do make limited exceptions, so if you're not sure whether you're within our service area, just ask!  See the Areas Served subpage under "About Us" for more information.

 

I have chickens.  Do you do chickens?

 

Typically we care for dogs, cats, small caged mammals, fish, and caged birds.  If you need care for your chickens, your alpaca, your goats, your pig, just ask!  We'll collect some information from you, and at our initial meet and greet, we'll mutually decide whether we're the right professional pet sitters for you.

 

How many pets do you care for at once?

 

When we visit your home, we care only for your pets.  This way, we can give them our undivided attention and ensure their safety.  We will not walk pets from different owners together.  We typically care for up to five pets in the home (don't worry, we're not counting fish - if you have more than five fish in your tank, you won't be charged extra!).  If you have more than five pets in your home, we are happy to meet with you to discuss your pet care needs, and at our initial meet and greet, we'll mutually decide whether we're the right professional pet sitters for you.

 

How much notice do I need to give you to schedule pet care services?

 

  • Dog walking and pet sitting services:  If you are a new client, we require at least three (3) days' notice so we can schedule an initial meet and greet before pet care services need to begin.  If you are a returning client, we often only need 48 hours' notice to schedule services for your pet.  However, the more notice you can provide, the more likely we will be available on the days and times you need us.   
     

  • Holiday services:  Holiday clients should schedule pet care services at least fourteen (14) days in advance of the first day of service.   

 

Is a deposit required?

 

A 50% deposit may be required at the time of booking for holiday services only to hold your requested dates.  For all other services, your total service fee is due by the first day of your requested service.  Fussy Gussy Pet Sitting, LLC currently accepts cash, check, and credit cards.  Please make checks payable to Fussy Gussy Pet Sitting, LLC.

 

What if I need to cancel my pet care services?

 

Life happens, and if you need to cancel, we get it!  Fussy Gussy Pet Sitting does not charge for cancellations with adequate notice.  If you have prepaid, your deposit can be refunded or credited toward future service.  However, we ask that you please adhere to the following policies to avoid incurring a fee:

 

  • Mid-day dog walking (3+ days/week): Cancellations should be made before 7:00 a.m. on the date of service. If you need to cancel after 7:00 a.m. on the date of service, you may be charged the value of that day's service.  For same-day cancellations, please leave a voicemail or text by 7:00 a.m. at (443) 821-7387. 
     

  • Pet sitting and new puppy/kitten care services:  We require 24 hours’ notice for all cancellations, including services that were not completed in the event of an early return.  If you need to cancel service with less than 24 hours’ notice, you may be charged the value of one day's service. 
     

  • Holiday services:  If the service period includes a holiday, cancellations should be made at least 7 days prior to the first date of service.  If you need to cancel any portion of the service period within 7 days of the first date of service, you may be charged the value of the service that was cancelled, up to 50% of the total fee for that service period.
